Listeria outbreak affects frozen vegetables, sunflower kernels nationwide
California is one of the states included in a national recall of frozen vegetables and sunflower kernels that may be contaminated with listeriosis.
The United States Food and Drug Administration released a list of affected products produced by CRF Frozen Foods in Washington state, which are distributed nationally and in parts of Canada.
The initial recall by CRF impacted 11 frozen vegetables, but by May 2 the company expanded it to all organic and traditional frozen fruits and vegetables processed in its facility that were potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Approximately 358 products are being recalled, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
